It’s no secret that California is known for its great seafood restaurants, and what better way to enjoy it than in your sporty MINI Cooper?
Fans of seafood, Cali cooking, and great dining experiences are going to love Orange County’s best!
Here are the top three seafood restaurants in Orange County.
The Bluewater Grill – Nationally known for its charbroiled seafood, extremely extensive menu, and oddly New England-style décor, the Bluewater Grill is a local favorite. The best chowder in Orange County has its home here, as does the best swordfish! The Bluewater Grill is also a regular haunt of residents who are simply enamored with the restaurants old world décor and atmosphere.
The Cannery – Often described as harborside dining at its best, the Cannery repeatedly impresses with its light and healthy menu. The Cannery is also a restaurant with history; it actually used to be a fish cannery. When the lights dim, the true historical feeling of the restaurant comes alive, and the atmosphere simply glows. Along with the impressive cooked dishes, the Cannery also offers a very highly rated sushi bar.
The Rusty Pelican- For an extremely romantic dinner setting and top quality seafood, the Rusty Pelican is the best place to go. Their salmon tartare is known for its excellent taste. For over 30 years, the Rusty Pelican has served some of the best pan- and oven-roasted fish. Even better, the Rusty Pelican has excellent options for patrons who don’t want a seafood dinner, as well as one of the best Surf N’ Turf platters in Orange County.
On a personal note, my wife and I were going to eat at Joe’s Crab Shack next door (well, very close) and the wait time was 1 hour. Â We left our name on the list and decided to walk on over to the Rusty Pelican and see what the situation was. Â We were seated immediately!
Mind you, I rather jogged ahead and got our name on the list a minute before a larger group was being seated, but overall what a huge surprise to get seated so quickly. Â My wife LOVED her food (it was a Mother’s Day celebration) and the ambiance was incredible.
I don’t remember the price tag being too much above what we would have paid for over at Joe’s next door, but for us it was a great change and we would go back again in a heartbeat.
